Jacksonville, Florida. – A Jacksonville woman was accused of neglecting a child after sharing a video and photos on social media.
Lazaria Page, 21, was arrested on Sunday.
According to the arrest report, several people contacted Sheriff Jacksonville’s office after seeing the video and photos on social media. News4Jax got this video but chose not to show it because it’s too graphical.
The report did not clarify whether or not Big was the mother of the children in the video and pictures.
The Social Solidarity Organization said that officers observed the children and noticed several marks that appeared to come from a belt on the victim’s body.
When questioned by the police, the report showed Pigg denied touching the victim. She told investigators that a man she knew beat a victim with a belt after they were acting disrespectfully.
Investigators also put up a Facebook post in which she mentioned the man she claims slapped the baby. According to the report, the post said: “I am happy [he’s] Not my father because I’m going to kill Doug. “
The report shows Pigg told the police that she posted this post prior to the accident.
Investigators said Paige told them she did not report the incident to the police.
Records show Pigg is now out of prison with a bond.
“You may face a prison sentence because neglecting a child is a serious crime. You could receive up to five years in prison,” said Ken Jefferson, a crime and safety expert at News4Jax.
The organization said it is also issuing an arrest warrant for a man accused of child abuse in the video. The investigators have not confirmed at this time what exactly his relationship with Pigg is.
