JACKSONVILLE, Florida – A pedestrian was killed in a Hyundai car crash in Southside Wednesday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
FHP said the accident occurred on Southside Boulevard on Cargall Street and involved a white Hyundai. The death of the victim, a 77-year-old man, was confirmed.
According to a report by FHP, Hyundai was heading south at Southside Boulevard in the left lane and pedestrians were walking east with his bike on Southside Boulevard. The driver got a green light and went across the intersection when the pedestrian failed to give the right of way and walked in the vehicle’s lane, according to the report.
And that’s when a pedestrian hit the front of Hyundai, who died of his wounds.
The FHP report says an investigation is underway and charges are pending.
